Portraits of Place and Personhood: The Life and Work of Southern Appalachian Women

Abstract

This oral history project offers analysis into the work and embodiment of women in the southern Appalachian region. Using a regional-focus, the project centers on the questions: "From the perspective of three women of three different generations, what kind of work do women do in the Southern Appalachian region? In other words, how do women define the work they do here, and what conclusions could be drawn based on their memories and stories?"
