Bella Bum is a senior fashion design project that explores confidence, body acceptance, and empowerment through clothing and immersive brand presentation. The project examines how intentional garment construction, silhouette, and fabric selection influence how individuals feel within their own bodies. Rather than designing clothing to fit a narrow beauty standard, Bella Bum prioritizes comfort, movement, and inclusivity.
In addition to garment design, the project includes developing a cohesive visual identity that reflects these values. The Bella Bum brand incorporates bold typography, warm color palettes, and soft yet structured graphic elements to communicate strength and femininity simultaneously. The logo and supporting brand materials are designed to feel inviting, expressive, and confident, reinforcing the message that clothing should adapt to the body, not demand change from it. Through cohesive branding, packaging, and spatial presentation, the visual identity extends the collection’s emphasis on affirmation and accessibility. Clothing can shape confidence and self-perception; however, much of the fashion industry centers on restrictive sizing systems and trend-driven aesthetics that can leave individuals feeling excluded. Bella Bum seeks to redefine fashion as a tool for affirmation rather than limitation. By integrating inclusive garment construction with intentional brand design, this project presents fashion as both a physical and visual language of empowerment.
But, what is a fashion line without an effective and cohesive brand message?. The graphic design and visual package of Bella Bum represent the brand identity that visually supports the collection’s message of confidence, femininity, and self-expression. Through the development of a logo, curated color palette, typography system, and branded materials, the project extends beyond garment construction to create a cohesive visual language. Soft pink tones paired with bold reds communicate both femininity and strength, while the typography balances playfulness with polish. Together, these elements establish a unified identity that connects the clothing, runway installation, and overall audience experience, reinforcing the project’s message of empowerment as the collection continues to develop.
